How else can you give to the community of St. Michael's ?
In 2012 St. Michael's began a project to do $400,000 in much needed renovations. This was completed in 2013. Our goal is to pay off the $300,000 still owed as quickly as possible so we can add an addition to provide a larger gathering space, more bathrooms and classrooms. Many parishioners pledged additional amounts over the next three years for our Capital Campaign. You can call Fr. Tom to discuss a larger donation or write Capital Campaign on a check each Sunday.
Ambry Candles burn continuously over the Reserved Sacrament kept on the Ambry in front of the church. A candle can be donated in memory or thanksgiving. Cost per candle is $9.
A sign up sheet is in the gathering space if you would like to donate flowers for any Sunday. They can be donated for thanksgiving, memory or just because you would like to donate. Up to two vases can be placed each Sunday. Cost per vase is $45 and are ordered by the Altar Guild.
Each year the amount of baskets given by St. Nichael's has increased due to our parishioners donations. We collect money for, prepare and deliver baskets on Thanksgiving week to families in need through ACTION NORMAN.
Norman Community Christmas Dinner
Started at St. Michael's in 1987 with the slogan "No one should be alone on Christmas." bringing together those who had no place to go for Christmas Dinner and fellowship. Still led by Bob Magarian, the dinner is now held at Norman High School and feeds around 1300. Donations of money, toys and gifts start December. St.Michael's always has the first chance at signing up to help the day of the dinner. The list is usually out the first two weeks in December.
Camp New Hope
Each summer St. Crispin's Episcopal Camp and Conference Center has a week of camp for children who have an incarcerated parent. Donations are accepted for this program.
