Lay Eucharistic Visitor Training

Sunday, April 30

Fr. Jason will be conducting a short session on what to do as a Lay Eucharistic Visitor, Sunday, April 30th, beginning at 9:30.  He would like all who are currently licensed, as well as those wanting to become an LEV, to attend.  He would also like to set up an LEV schedule at that time, hence the need for everyone to be there.  If you would please let the office know if you will be able to attend, it would be appreciated.  Thank you.

STILL LOOKING FOR HOPE?

Our book discussion group for Cynthia Bourgeault's "Mystical Hope" will continue to meet in the Chapel on Saturdays at 9 a.m.  It's not too late to join in, if you can read the short first two chapters.  Need the book fast?  It's available online in various e-formats as well as from Amazon.com in paperback.

SCRIP

SCRIP orders are due May 7th.  Amazon cards would make a great graduation gift.  It’s also time for yard work and home improvements so consider Lowe’s or Home Depot.  Talk with Amy Gardner, Melissa Gray or Donna Young for more information and to place an order.  Orders can be placed prior to the 7th.  Cards will be received by May 17th.

ECW FUND-RAISER SPAGHETTI EVENT

St. Michael’s ECW is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Sunday May 21st after the 11:00 O’clock service.  We are looking for cooks to prepare spaghetti sauce, salads, garlic bread, desserts (ahead of time), spaghetti donors (uncooked, we’ll cook it on the day) and willing helpers to assist with kitchen prep, meal service and clean-up.  All funds raised will benefit The Red Tent Project, an outreach to homeless women and teen girls in Cleveland County.  Contact Pam Wallace (405-412-6562) or Cathy Scott (405-246-8776) for more information.  There will be a brief meeting on

Sunday, May 7th to finalize these details.  All are welcome to attend

Sharon’s Wagon

Collections for Sanctuary House

Along with the ECW raising money for homeless women and teens to buy feminine items, Sharon’s Wagon is collecting items for Sanctuary House.  This collection has already begun and will continue through May 14th.  Look in the ingathering space by Sharon’s Wagon for a list of items needed.  Your donations are greatly appreciated.

It’s Graduation Time

High School and College Graduates will be honored on Sunday, May 14th.  To have your graduate recognized in the Sunday service, please communicate the following information to the parish office: the individual’s full name, the name of the school from which they are graduating, and for college/university/graduate students, the degree being received.  This information should be in the office no later than Monday, May 10th.

Thank You to Anne Clayton

After three years of gracious service, Anne Clayton is stepping down from the role of Handbell Choir director.  St. Michael’s is collecting funds for a thank you gift to Anne in recognition of her service to us over these years.  If you’ve enjoyed the Handbell Choir playing for Sunday services and special occasion, please consider contributing to the collection.  Donations should be in the parish office no later than May 14th.
