Wise Women’s Luncheon
Hello, Fellow Wise Women!
Our next Wise Women's Luncheon will be this coming Saturday, June 24th, at 11:30 AM. Sylvia Crucet has volunteered to host the luncheon in the in-gathering space at the church. Since she and I have not made coffee by the pot, we would appreciate any volunteers who have done that before to help us out!
If you are able to bring a dish to share, we will all enjoy it; but if not, please do join us anyway for the fellowship and lunch. I will be glad to pass on to you all and any information I receive about what people are planning to bring.
Hope you can come join us!
SOAR (Singles Outreach and Resource)
St. Michael’s SOAR group meets for lunch one Sunday a month immediately following the 11:00 a.m. service. Our next gathering will be on Sunday, June 25th, at Blackbird Gastropub located at 575 S. University, Norman. Guests, friends, family, neighbors and couples are always welcome to join in this lunch fellowship. If you have questions about SOAR or would like to RSVP, please contact Paula Magarian at email@example.com or Rita Akin at firstname.lastname@example.org
The game for Sunday, June 25th, will be played with St. Paul’s Cathedral at All Souls’ Activity Field, 63rd and Penn, Oklahoma City. The game will be begin at 6:00 p.m. The entire Church League Softball Schedule is posted in the Ingathering Space on the bulletin board.
Episcopal Youth Event
July 10-14: The Diocese of Oklahoma is hosting the international Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. Over 1500 guests (teens and adults) are expected from across the United States, Europe, Micronesia, South America and elsewhere. Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles as hosts and ministers of hospitality for this event. Go to the diocesan webpage (www.epiok.org) and click on the “Volunteer for EYE” button to sign up and learn more!
The diocese is still looking for volunteers for E.Y.E for all positions. Information can be found here http://www.epiok.org/dfc/newsdetail_2/3184010
EYE Guests from Georgia
July 14-16: Following the EYE event in Edmond, a group of fifteen (12 youth, 3 adult) pilgrims from the Diocese of Georgia will stay at St. Michael’s on Friday and Saturday nights. They will participate in a local service project, visit the Chickasaw Nation Recreation Center, and worship with us on Sunday. Since St. Michael’s is not equipped with shower facilities, we need to borrow a few nearby bathrooms on Saturday night to get our pilgrims washed up! We also need cooks willing to make meals (Friday lunch and supper, Saturday breakfast and supper, Sunday breakfast.) Please contact Fr. Jason (email@example.com) or Deacon Laura (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you can help with either of these needs.
