Amazon Smile

Since you’re already thinking about Christmas shopping, don’t forget to use Amazon Smile for your online shopping.  This is another fund raiser that you can contribute to without spending any extra money.  When you order through Amazon, click on the Amazon Smile button and select St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Norman OK.  Amazon will automatically donate a percentage of your purchase to our church.  You can enroll by following the links here.

TWENTY-SEVENTH ANNUAL ST. MICHAEL’S THANKSGIVING BASKETS

St. Michael’s has been distributing Thanksgiving Baskets from the church for the past twenty-six years to families in need.  This year forty-five (45) baskets will be distributed again to families whose names are obtained from Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency (COCAA).  As always, I’m asking for donations to purchase the food items—turkeys, stuffing, potatoes, milk, butter, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, bread, pies, and apples—for the baskets.  Please address checks to “St. Michael’s Thanksgiving Baskets” and deposit them in the offering plate or in the church office.

We will distribute the baskets on Wednesday morning, November 25, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers will be needed.  If you can help, please call me (405-364-3273). Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

POTATO LUNCH TO RAISE FUNDS FOR UGANDAN STUDENTS

On November 27th, St. Michael's will offer hot out of the oven potatoes right after the 11:00 a.m. service.  It's the only fund raiser for the ten students we support through BARHD.  We provide all the support for each student, $400 a year, about the cost of two Starbucks a week.  The $400 pays all their costs:  food, housing, clothing, medical and school.

There will be delicious toppings for the potatoes but we need your help.  Talk to Jocelyn Pederson or Rosemary Ford, or use the sign-up sheets located in the Ingathering Space.  Thanks so much!

Egg Cartons

We need egg cartons again.  From time-to-time we will have a donation of fresh eggs to the church.  We had 22 dozen donated last week.  Please be gracious with your free-will offering for these delicious eggs and if you can spare a few egg cartons, drop them off in the kitchen.  Thank you.
